Q&A with Lezanne Scott

Say hello to Lezanne, one of our lovely coaches who is based in Edinburgh. She’s also a talented artist, and has her very own podcast. Follow this link to listen to her interview with our founder, Emma King.

What’s your one line elevator pitch?

I work with creative business owners, helping them improve their focus and follow-through so that they can turn their ideas into reality.

Why are you passionate about what you do?

As creative business owners we wear so many hats, and this can be both energising and exhausting. When the business grows, it can lead to a sense of overwhelm and a feeling of losing the spark that started the business in the first place. Often we find ourselves doing more and more administrative work, with less time for our own creative projects. I am passionate about helping people reconnect with that spark and find ways of working that feel sustainable rather than depleting, so that their business can grow without costing them their wellbeing or their love for the work.

Who is your ideal customer?

I work with founders, freelancers and entrepreneurs at the earlier stages of building their business, in that messy bit where things can feel overwhelming and exciting at the same time. Many of my clients are neurodivergent, and I work with them to harness their strengths so that they can feel proud of who they are and the work they do. A lot of my work focuses on supporting clients to manage their energy and build emotional resilience.

What can Dapper clients expect in a discovery call with you?

I’ll ask some questions to understand why you reached out for support, and I’ll share a bit about myself and the way I work with clients, so that together we can establish whether we’re a good fit.

Tell us a bit about your career to date?

I started my career as an Occupational Therapist, working within vocational rehabilitation in South Africa and the UK. In 2017, I established a private practice in Cape Town, where I developed an interest in the mental health and chronic pain management space. Over time, I became more interested in partnering with founders to support their work, and I retrained as a coach. This background is what draws my focus to energy, sustainable ways of working and the strengths of neurodivergent minds, rather than the generic business advice you might find elsewhere.

I am also a practising artist with a studio in Edinburgh, and I host a podcast called The Art of Creative Business, where I interview creative professionals about career transitions, burnout and building sustainable practices. These days I divide my time between making art, coaching business owners and doing some Occupational Therapy work.

What brings you joy/ energises you?

Being in nature, and plein air painting! Few things energise me quite like setting up outdoors with my paints and responding to a landscape in the moment.

What do you enjoy about collaborating with Dapper?

The team at Dapper brings authenticity and a real care for the people they work with. There’s a focus on individuality, on bringing forward what makes someone distinctive. This set of values aligns closely with my own beliefs about people and the way I work with clients.

Tell us something not many people know about you?

In August 2025, I completed an artist residency in rural Finland, where I fell in love with sauna culture. It shaped a whole body of work, and the solo exhibition that followed took its name, LÖYLY, from the Finnish word for the steam that rises when water is thrown onto the hot stones.
